Your Favourite Family Food Festival!
April 28, 2019
Sew Hungry commences the family festival season by offering entertainment that everyone in your family can enjoy. Last year the Boys and Girl’s Club of Hamilton was readily on hand in the Kid’s Zone offering activities and games for children of all ages to enjoy. This year’s festival will not skimp on the amusement, either!
The obvious favourite, the bouncy castle will be the centre piece of the kid’s zone. The Kid’s Zone will also feature our resident face painter making an appearance to offer free face-painting for children between 2.30 pm-6.30pm. Most exciting will be the Urban Zoo, which will give a chance for kids to interact with animals under the guidance of trained professional. A seating area will be made available for guardians to relax in close proximity to the children.
Yoga Now, Feast Later!
Owner of In Fine Feather yoga studio, Helena Mckinney will be hosting a complimentary yoga class on the main stage around 2pm. This event is BYOM- Bring your own mat. It’s a chance to start the day with some whoosa, before you nama(stay) around for the food.
Most merchants will be open May 4th. In line with our Zero-waste initiative, stores like Artiques, The Giving Closet and East meets West offer visitors a chance to buy and repurpose previously loved items.
For those, considering Zero-Waste parenting, Barefoot Babies has an assortment of cloth diapers for sale as well as information on natural parenting for the millennial Hamiltonian.
For book readers, The City and The City Books is gearing for a soft opening on that Saturday, so you can pass by and welcome the latest addition to the neighbourhood.
Sew much more than food
Sew you see, there will so much more on offer at Sew Hungry than food. At every corner there will be an experience waiting for you, just you wait and see!
