Let’s celebrate good times!
April 25, 2019
Even if you are not a foodie (how that could be possible, no-one knows!), there will be plenty of fun for everyone at Sew Hungry. Just as with previous years it will be an activity packed afternoon.
HMBRGR Beer Garden
Because this is not your grandmother’s food truck festival, there will be the beer garden! HAMBRGR in collaboration with Fairweather Brewing Company will once again be hosting a beer garden. It’s also worth checking out the HAMBRGR restaurant social media as they will be running a Star Wars costume competition to commemorate the festival being held on May 4th.
Perhaps more prevalent than the food choice is the array of musical performance’s making their way to Sew Hungry this year. They are 5 bands headlining the main stage. Big Rude Jake, Cootes Paradise, Kojo, and Art The Band are all from the golden horseshoe area, so it will be great to jam to some local talent.
Laidlaw Memorial Church will be opening up its doors to welcome guests to enjoy the sounds of the 20-piece George Arnone Band and 2pm. And if you are still around in the evening, you can close of the day with the sounds of the Swingline Band at 7pm.
Hammer City Samba is a great community percussion group that has played at numerous street festivals in the city. They will be travelling down the street to give you an opportunity to jive to their bag pipes and samba drum orchestrations.
Our headliner who has been dubbed “the holy grail of real talent” is KC Roberts. His music is an infectious blend of hip hop, electronic, pop and funk.
You won’t want to miss this!
Whatever your entertainment needs, this is not the year to miss Sew Hungry. We have food, we have drinks, we have music, there is no where else you would rather be next Saturday!
